The first time I went travelling alone, I was nineteen, and I found a tropical paradise in the Atlantic sea, off the coast of Ireland.  Cape Clear is a tiny spec of lush greenery, surrounded by temperate dolphin-infested waters, home to just 120 people.  It’s one of the last places in the world to have Gaelic as its first language.

For three days every year, the population of the island doubles during its International Storytelling Festival.  In the summer of 2012, I am going to film a documentary of this amazing cultural happening.
